Success is to be measured not so much by the position reached in life as by the obstacles on has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Friends of the Children of Lascahobas, Haiti, has not only taken an interest in the lives of Lascahobasian children, but has made substantial positive changes through choices. Through the many years during which it has provided services to families in the area, FCLH has shown tremendous strength and commitment.
The organization has gained great respect and has been commended for its ongoing dedication and support. I was proud to volunteer my time and effort to assist the medical team during their visit to Haiti in February 2013.
I was fascinated to be part of a dedicated and highly trained group. Working in the pharmacy area provided me with a great opportunity to serve and teach a lot of young brothers and sisters.
Medication compliance was the focal point of my teaching, and the participants were very receptive. Instructions were conveyed in Creole.; and they verbalized clear understanding of the information presented.
It was generous of FCLH to have developed a program that gives so much time and attention to the Lascahobasians. In their struggles and difficulties, FCLH is like a spiritual partner that God assigns to their lives.
My advice to Lascahobasians is to stay focused on the future with great anticipation of what God is taking you to. It’s true that no one knows what the future holds, but we do know Who holds the future, and his name is “Jesus.”
Believe in Him and you will prevail. Believers have purpose; others have wishes!
